My father went to Temple tonight and my mother and I were to light the Diyas
My mothers Muslim and although she celebrates with us, she doesn’t usually light the Diyas, and I never had to do it on my own. =[
I have a clay diya, cotton balls and a big jar full of ghee, but everytime i light the cotton, it just goes out in a few seconds

For lighting it up, first put the cotton ball. Just roll the cotton ball so as to make it like a fat thread (couldn’t think of explaining it in a better way) of cotton. It should be long. Place it in the clay Diya. Then add melted ghee (pay attention to that). Make sure the cotton’s end which is sticking out should also be dipped in the ghee, otherwise it won’t burn for very long. Use a lighter or a match box to light it up, and spread light everywhere
VOILA!
